Posting a job on Betterteam already shares it across many job boards — including Indeed — for free. Promoting on Indeed is an optional paid offering: it puts a budget behind your listing so it appears higher in Indeed search results and reaches more candidates, faster. Unlike free listings, promoted jobs don't fall down the search results over time. You can set it all up right inside the Betterteam Dashboard, and Indeed bills you directly.
New to promoting jobs? See Promoting job posts for an overview of how it works across all partners.
How do I promote a job on Indeed?
1. Go to Jobs and open the job you want to promote.
2. On the job's page, click Promote Job. (On mobile, you'll find it in the ••• actions menu.)
3. In the opened window, pick Indeed.
4. If this is your first time, click Connect Indeed and approve access on Indeed — you'll land right back in the job promote window in the Betterteam Dashboard.
5. Set your total budget and an end date, review exactly what you're committing to, and click Start promoting.
Your promotion can take a few hours to start showing on Indeed.
Connecting your Indeed account
Promoting runs through your own Indeed Employer account, so Betterteam needs your permission once:
You'll need an Indeed Employer account with billing set up. You can check your payment details at Indeed Billing.
Click Connect Indeed, approve access on Indeed, and you land back in the Betterteam Dashboard ready to promote.
Betterteam never sees your card — Indeed bills you directly for what your promotions spend.
For now, your Indeed account needs to be billed in US dollars.
Switching to a different Indeed account
Connected the wrong Indeed account? You can switch as long as none of your jobs has a promotion running. Open any job's Promote window, open the ⋯ menu at the top of the Indeed tab and choose Connect a different account. While a promotion is running on this job or another one, that item is greyed out and says which to stop first. The new account then takes over for all your future promotions.
How much does it cost?
You choose the budget. Indeed sets a minimum that depends on how long the promotion runs, and tells you if the budget you set is too low. Indeed charges you as candidates click your promoted job, up to the amount you set.
Once your promotion starts spending, the Promote window shows how much it has spent out of your budget and how many days are left. Indeed’s figures can take a while to update, so the amount may trail the latest clicks.
The cost of each click is set by Indeed and varies with the role, the location, and how many employers are competing for the same candidates.
You pay Indeed directly — there's no Betterteam invoice.
How long does it run?
Your promotion runs until the end date you choose, then stops on its own — no need to remember to turn it off.
The budget and end date are fixed once it starts. To change them, click Stop promoting and start a new one.
How do I pause, continue or end a promotion?
Open the job's Promote window any time and click Pause. To pick it back up, click Continue. To stop it for good, click Stop promoting next to Pause and confirm — Indeed stops charging you right away, and the promotion can't be restarted. You can start a new one any time.
Your promotion stops spending while it stays paused.
Continuing picks up the same budget and end date — paused days aren't added back.
Pausing only stops the Indeed boost — your job stays live on Betterteam and keeps being distributed for free.
When a promotion ends
Once a promotion reaches its end date, or you click Stop promoting, it's finished and can't be restarted. The Promote window still shows what it spent. Promoting the job again starts a new promotion with a fresh budget and end date — you'll see what the last one ran on before you commit.
How do I know a job is promoted?
Promoted on Indeed (or Indeed promotion paused) appears next to the job's status in the job's header, and a Promoted or Paused marker appears beside the title in your Jobs list.
If the job is closed, or no longer on Indeed, while its promotion is still running, these read Indeed campaign active and Campaign active instead: the promotion hasn't ended, but it has nothing to show until the job is back on Indeed.
In the Promote window, the dot beside Indeed is green while promoting, amber while paused, and a red ! when your connection needs attention. The window has the full picture — what's been spent, the end date, the Pause or Continue button, and the Stop promoting button.
Where do my candidates go?
Applications flow into your Betterteam Dashboard automatically, alongside your other applicants — nothing extra to check.
Good to know
Manage it from the Betterteam Dashboard. For promotions you start in the Betterteam Dashboard, we recommend making any changes — pausing, continuing, or starting a new one — from the Betterteam Dashboard only. Changes made in Indeed's own dashboard don't reach Betterteam, so the two would drift apart. In Indeed's dashboard, promotions from Betterteam are named Betterteam: job title (start date to end date).
Posted the same job directly on Indeed? Pause it there first — Indeed hides duplicate listings, and a hidden listing can't be promoted.
Closing your job. Closing or expiring a job takes its Indeed listing down, so the promotion has nothing left to show — but it isn't stopped. Pause or stop it from the Promote window; otherwise it stops on its end date. To continue a paused promotion, reopen the job first.
Stopping a promotion. Pause or end it from the Promote window — nothing else stops the spend. Disconnecting or removing an Indeed integration elsewhere does not pause a running promotion; it keeps spending until you pause or end it, or it reaches its end date.
Connection expired? Your promotion stays visible — click Reconnect Indeed in the Promote window to manage it again. While a promotion is running, sign in to the same Indeed account it runs on — you can't switch accounts until it ends.

The job isn't on my Indeed account, or Indeed hasn't picked it up
The Promote window says This job isn't on your Indeed account yet when Indeed's account doesn't list the job. There are two different reasons, and they need different things from you:
You posted it recently. Indeed can take a few hours to list a new job. Nothing is wrong — check back a little later.
Your jobs aren't linked to your Indeed account. Indeed groups jobs by the company they came from, and sometimes that group hasn't been connected to your employer account. Waiting won't fix this one. If you connected the wrong Indeed account, click Connect a different one under the message to switch (see Switching to a different Indeed account above). Otherwise, contact Indeed Support from your Indeed account and ask them to link your employer account to the jobs Betterteam sends, or get in touch with us and we'll help you sort it out.
A running promotion can instead show Indeed hasn't picked up this job yet. The promotion started, but Indeed hasn't matched it to this job:
You posted or edited the job in the last few minutes. Indeed needs a moment to catch up — check back shortly.
The job is on a different Indeed account. Click Stop promoting, connect the account that has the job (see Switching to a different Indeed account above), and start a new promotion.
