What does "Status" mean?

Statuses are markers you assign to candidates to filter and categorize them based on where they are in your hiring process. Like and Reject are quick triage buttons, but a more comprehensive list of statuses is available under Other.

To assign a status to a candidate, click the candidate from the list to open their profile, which shows the Like and Reject buttons as well as the Other menu of additional statuses.

Beyond Like and Reject, you can set a status that tracks where a candidate is in your process:

  • Early: Reviewing, Contacted

  • Screening: Screening, Screening Passed, Assessment

  • Interview & offer: Interviewing, Offer Made, Background Check, Verify Eligibility

  • Outcome: Hired, Candidate Started, Offer Declined, Candidate Withdrew

Back on the jobs list, the status columns (New, Liked, Rejected, Undecided) show how many candidates you've marked in each.

Only you can see these statuses — candidates won't know the one assigned to them unless you tell them.
